Travellers Departing Saint Helena for South Africa

From 1 July 2026, all travellers entering or leaving South Africa are required by SARS (South African Revenue Service) to submit an online Traveller Declaration before they travel.

Who this applies to:

  • All passengers travelling from Saint Helena to South Africa, including South African citizens and residents
  • Children and infants — a declaration must be completed on their behalf too
  • Each person travelling must submit their own separate declaration

What you need to do:

  1. Complete your online Traveller Declaration before your departure date
  2. Use a valid email address — you’ll need it to receive your confirmation
  3. Save or print your confirmation email — you’ll be asked for it by customs officers at the port
