First live animal exported by air from St Helena - 7 August 2019
“Buddy”, a Springer Spaniel, was the first live animal to be exported by air from St Helena. Buddy and his family left St Helena on Saturday 3 August 2019 for their return to the UK. This was the first time a dog had been exported by air; previously, all animals have left the Island by sea.
Buddy finally made it to his home in the UK and his owner, Nicola Brown said “I just wanted to say thank you again to all the staff at the airport for all of the help we had in getting Buddy home. All of the staff were fantastic with Buddy and with me and the flight from the island was the easiest part of the process. I honestly can’t thank you all enough…”
