Not only did the Boeing 757 have the usual mix of passengers, crew and general cargo, it also ferried 3,800 AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines.  These vaccines will be offered to all adults on St Helena Island as part of the Government’s vaccination programme.

The vaccines were carefully removed from the hold of G-ZAPX and taken immediately to Jamestown General Hospital for storage and preparation for the vaccine roll-out which begins next week.

As usual, COVID-19 preventative controls and precautions were in place at the Airport to attempt to minimise the possibility of community transmission.
