On 5 October 2018, St Helena Airport Limited (SHAL) was granted an aerodrome certificate by the regulator Air Safety Support International (ASSI) to certify that it is able to ensure the safe and secure operation of the Airport.  During its first year of operations, SHAL has supported an increasing number of aircraft and visitors to St Helena, and this is expected to continue into 2019/20.

Along with its aviation partners, SHAL remains committed to high levels of safety and security, safeguarding and caring for our environment, and enhancing customer experience and service by offering a personal touch to passenger travel.

Gwyneth Howell, Chief Executive Officer for SHAL said “The first year has been challenging for all, however with the dedication and commitment of our team, we have focused our energy on the road ahead, building a better and prosperous future for St Helena Airport Limited and the community whom we serve.”
