Earlier in 2018, St Helena Airport and St Helena Government (SHG) were nominated in the International Airport Review Awards 2018. The International Airport Review Awards are unique in being the only independent awards to recognise and reward excellence within the global airport and aviation industry.

Following a public vote, the shortlisted nominees were announced on 7 November 2018.  In the Airport of the Year category, the following airports have been shortlisted:

• Airport Authority Hong Kong
• Bristol Airport
• St Helena Airport.

In the Design Project of the Year category, the following organisations have been shortlisted:

• Israel Airports Authority
• SHG.

The entries for the shortlisted nominees will now be considered by a panel of industry experts, with the winners announced in December.

To be shortlisted for these awards is a considerable achievement and all involved with St Helena Airport should be warmly congratulated.
