Members from BASH came to St Helena Airport on 26 June 2019 to see various elements of the airport, particularly jobs and activities that are not normally seen by the travelling public.  Their visit gave the young people a whistle-stop tour of various airport functions, and included:

  • Air Traffic Control (including the ATC simulator)
  • Meteorological services
  • Fire fighting (including the Fire Training Rig)
  • Security services
  • Fuel services.

All those involved were given the opportunity to ask questions and gain an understanding of how the team at St Helena Airport work together to maintain the safety and security of passengers and visitors to the airport.
